Peace Camp

Peace Camp is a time for peace-minded people to share community, ideas and renewal. Peace Camp takes place at Camp Peaceful Pines in the Sierra Nevada near Pinecrest and offers workshops, hiking, campfire, singing, talent show,  star walk, children’s activities and delicious meals. Families and individuals are welcome. Peace Camp is organized by the Modesto Peace/Life Center in collaboration with Tuolumne County Citizens for Peace.

 

This year’s workshops include:

 

Ø      Israel, Palestine and the U.S, a multimedia presentation on Israel-Palestine presented by Dan Onorato, retired instructor of English and Spanish at Modesto Junior College.

Ø      Youth Activism: Organizing across Generations with

William Broderick-Villa, teacher and mayor of Waterford who was first elected councilman at the age of 24 and

Brianne Parmer, Modesto Junior College student and peace, gay rights and immigrants rights activist

 

 

Fees include lodging in rustic cabins, program and meals. The cost for adults is $70, for youth 4-17 $50 and children 3 and under are free. A $10 per person discount is available for early registration before June 8. Click Here for Registration forms.
